Mainstreet + Open Dental

Open Dental runs your practice. Mainstreet runs your Google presence.

Two systems doing separate jobs, cleanly. Open Dental handles patients, scheduling, billing, and clinical charting. Mainstreet handles your Google Business Profile — every review reply, weekly Post, and map-pack rank check — so you rank higher on Google Maps without hiring an agency. No PMS integration, no data leaves Open Dental.

What you get

Nothing plugs into your PMS

Mainstreet doesn't read your chart, your schedule, your billing, or any patient data. We connect only to your Google Business Profile — a completely separate system Google owns. Your Open Dental install stays untouched. HIPAA scope stays clean.

Reply to every review in your voice

Every new Google review gets an AI-drafted reply that sounds like your practice — warm, patient-appropriate, HIPAA-safe. Positive reviews auto-publish. Negative reviews wait for your one-tap approval. Your response rate hits 100% without you touching the queue.

Weekly Google Post, published for you

Google Posts are the fastest way to signal an active profile — practices that publish weekly outperform dormant ones in the map pack. Mainstreet writes and ships one Post a week in your voice. You can edit or reject any draft.

Real map-pack rank data, not vibes

5×5 grid across your service area, checked daily. See exactly where your practice ranks on 'dentist near me', 'family dentist [your city]', and your top-money keywords — at every corner of your service area, not just at your address.

Independent practices, not DSO chains

Every dashboard, every setup, every reply is tuned for the way an independent owner-dentist thinks about their patients — not the way a DSO ops team thinks about a portfolio. Priced accordingly.

Five-minute setup, five minutes a week

One Google sign-in on our dashboard, one voice-tone questionnaire, done. From that moment forward every review gets a reply within the hour, every Monday morning ships a Post, and every keyword gets tracked. You look at the dashboard when it's convenient.

Common questions

Do I need to give Mainstreet access to Open Dental?

No. Mainstreet never touches your PMS. We connect only to your Google Business Profile — same place your Google reviews and Posts already live. If someone told you a review-management tool needs PMS access, they were selling you something bigger than what you need.

Will this conflict with anything Open Dental does?

It runs completely independently. Open Dental's role stays: patient records, scheduling, insurance, billing, charting. Mainstreet's role: the public-facing Google presence that patients see BEFORE they call your office. No overlap.

Is Mainstreet on Open Dental's Authorized Vendor list?

In-process. Since we don't integrate with the Open Dental database directly, we sit alongside it rather than inside its vendor ecosystem — but we're happy to co-market with Open Dental practices and Open Dental staff who want to recommend us to their community.

What about patient data / HIPAA?

Mainstreet only reads publicly-posted Google reviews and public GBP data. We never see PHI. Our AI is trained to refuse anything that references a specific patient's condition, treatment, or identifying details — see our HIPAA-safe reply guardrails. If a reviewer includes PHI in their public review, we flag it for your review rather than auto-replying.

How is this different from Podium, Weave, or Birdeye?

They're patient-engagement platforms — messaging, forms, payments, plus reviews. They cost $300–$800/mo and are sized for practices with a marketing coordinator. Mainstreet is only the Google-side automation, priced at $99/mo Founding, and designed for the owner-dentist who wants zero-touch operation. If you already have Podium/Weave, we probably don't replace them; we just make sure your reviews and Posts don't fall behind.

Can I switch off auto-publish for review replies?

Yes — one toggle on the settings page. Auto mode publishes positive replies immediately (still generated in your voice). Manual mode drafts everything and waits for your one-tap approval before publishing. Negative reviews always wait for your approval regardless of mode.

Do I need a website separately?

For local search — no. Google's map pack (the 3 businesses that show under the map) is what patients tap. Your GBP is the storefront. A website matters for national/informational SEO, but for 'dentist near me' searches, the GBP is 90% of what ranks.
